Lanai City and Surrounds

Lanai City (population 2,800) sits in a central position near the top of the island and is easy to get to from the airport. Although the largest city in Lanai, it has a small town ambiance that soothes. People talk to one another, and strangers get smiled at.

On the outskirts of Lanai are the Luahiwa Petroglyph field. Lanai boasts more of the ancient inscriptions than any other island except the Big Island.
